Role Models
It trips me out what our society deems as a role model sometimes...it really does. So just because someone has some phenomenal physical ability, such as our athletes, or can sing, or act really well, they are deemed as role models for the youth. Why? What did they do to merit the role model status? Nothing. And then things happen like, sexual infidelity, drug use and posession, and the list goes on for miles. Now, they're bad role models. Well, they weren't role models in the first place! I think that one should act as a role model, and THEN we can deem whether or not they are one. It's like popularity or fame denotes instant role model status, but a lot of famous people aren't necessarily good or moral or ethical people. Fame and fortune do not require one to be a good person at all. So who do you consider as a role model and how does one get there?
Defensivity
I was talking about getting really defensive with one of my friends earlier today, and we pointed out what makes us get defensive or what makes us really mad when people do certain things. It was pretty cool I thought, because it's good to know what your weaknesses, or flaws are. But I only think it's good to know this stuff if one plans on at least making an effort on doing something about it. Otherwise it's just a moo point. And yes, I mean MOO. "A moo point. It's like a cow's opinion...it doesn't really matter. It's mooooooooooo." He he he.

I REALLY have no respect people who talk about someone behind their back...like right when they leave. Sometimes, I feel like I don't want to talk to certain people here because that's how some of them are, right when you leave, they'll say something about you. That's not cool, and the worst thing is is that they kiss ass to the person when they're around...it's really whack. I also don't like when people make inside jokes, not like about things like experiences, or a funny thing they both saw, but like an inside joke that's directed towards a particular person and that person is there. I mean, some of the people they've been talking about have been here for like 10 years and there's been nothing but improvement, so the fact that they have all these negative things to say has no grounds. I think some people are just haters and that's how they'll always be. Damn, it's irritating. I'm just kinda scared to see the day I feel like the inside joke is about me, cuz I might blow up. It's completely unprofessional, more comparable to a playground atmosphere than a professional one. That's what makes me think sometimes, that I might not be here for a very very long time, because the atmosphere is very competitive in a bad way, the way where people put each other down and bicker with one another. It's just not healty....so unless there are improvements, then this is just another stepping stone.
